Memtest86 is a program created for testing the memory against likely errors under x86-based computers.

The program does not almost require the user’s intervention since it works by automatically running the tests that are ready-equipped with.

For that purpose, it is necessary to record it and start it from a bootable CD or diskette, since it is fully independent from the hard discs and requires to be run before them. Once it is started, you should wait until its task ends before resuming your activities in the computer.

Note: this download corresponds to a compressed ISO image that needs to be burnt to a CD to be able to use the program.
